Founded in 1969, the Illinois Probation and Court Services Association was organized to serve as a form for the exchange of ideas and strategies regarding probation and court services for both juvenile and adult offenders.

In 1969, there were a total of 31 charter members. Today the Association has grown to over 1400 members including probation officers, detention officers, judges, and related professionals.
