Event Date:

November 21, 2024

Event Time:

2:00 pm

Event Location:

Over the past 40 years, researchers and practitioners have been working together to develop a roadmap to guide effective correctional interventions. The science behind this roadmap has articulated several principles and practices, that when implemented well, improve individual well-being and reduce one’s risk of recidivism. However, there are real world challenges to implementation that can cause agencies to miss a turn, face a detour, or even get lost. This session will share the roadmap highlighting how to translate the principles of effective intervention and core correctional practices consistently and effectively to maximize the positive benefits to those under supervision.

Workshop 2 Description (November  21, 2024: The second in a two-part workshop, this session focuses on how staff can move from being a referee to a coach and the value of incorporating core correctional practices into daily interactions with individuals under supervision.
