The Sex Offender Committee has two co-chairs to facilitate the collaboration of information that is relative to the members. Information provided to members relates to updates as to legislation, current trends in supervision treatment, and training opportunities. In addition, the committee maintains a collaborative effort with the Illinois Sex offender Management Board (ISOMB). By staying up to date with current legislation and best practice, the committee advises the IPCSA Executive Board regarding issues that affect the profession both on a stated level and nationally. As our profession works towards evidence-based practices, we continue to compile statistics to develop standards on a state level as well as identifying gaps in training. These gaps are addressed in training that is offered at conferences.
