The Research Committee was developed to analyze data and programs in the field of probation. Evidence-Based Practices and Policies are being incorporated into every probation department across the nation; it only highlights the value and importance of research and the use of current data play within our profession. There is a need at the local level for continued objective and balanced research. As a statewide organization, we have unprecedented access to resources, data, and information that can be valuable to the outfield. The goal is to tap into these resources, conduct quality research and use the finding to enhance our existing knowledge and expand our current understanding of the issues that surround probation and court services in Illinois.
